Primary Responsibilities:
Lead a team of internal and external technical resources to reinvest in our world-class warehouse management systemSet goals and expectations both within the team and with other technical and business leaders and deliver to themWork closely with product management to understand business requirements and associated prioritiesEnsure sound architectural decisions are made and documentedInterface with cloud engineers, tech leads, and SMEs to solve complex problems and resolve disagreement with informed, rational, and practical solutionsHelp identify, plan, estimate, execute, and help track software engineering workExplore suitable open source and commercial off the shelf software to accelerate the capabilities of the platformGrow and maintain a broad and deep knowledge of supply chain operations and associated technologiesMentor and provide guidance to other team members – both technical and non-technicalBe equally adept at managing technologists as participating in technical design and be willing to actively participate in all facets of the SDLCMaintain relationships with vendors and partnersTravel (domestically) to meet with team members and partnersRequired Qualifications:
Education & Work Experience
8+ years of direct software application engineering experience; including at least 4 years as a software engineer and an equivalent amount of time spent leading software engineering teamsPrior work on large software engineering projects (>40 team members)Experience working with geographically dispersed teams including both internal and external team membersKnowledge of supply chain processes and associated technologies is helpfulUniversity degree in computer science or software engineering is preferredSkills & Abilities
