Senior Engineering Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our software development team. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading a diverse, fully remote team of full-time employees and contractors, focusing on building a high-performance culture, driving technical innovation, and ensuring the delivery of robust e-commerce software solutions. You'll collaborate closely with QA, product managers, enterprise IT, and business stakeholders to ensure our products are delivered on time and at a high level of quality.

What You’ll Do:

Team Leadership and Performance Management

Manage a cross-functional team of software developers, including both full-time employees and contractors

Develop and implement performance management strategies that motivate and inspire technical talent

Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and clear career development pathways

Create and maintain a collaborative, inclusive, and high-energy team environment

Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance

Assess and optimize developer throughput and productivity

Implement robust code review processes and quality standards

Monitor and evaluate team performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement

Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, architecture, and design principles

Mentorship and Professional Development

Provide direct mentorship to junior developers, fostering their technical growth and career progression

Create structured learning and development programs

Establish mentorship frameworks that enable knowledge sharing across the team

Support junior developers in skill enhancement and career trajectory planning

Strategic Planning and Execution

Collaborate with product management and other engineering leaders to define technical strategy

Break down complex projects into manageable work streams

Align team objectives with broader organizational goals

Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables

Cultural Transformation

Drive the evolution of the engineering team's performance culture

Implement agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices

Encourage innovation, proactive problem-solving, and a growth mindset

Build a transparent and accountable team environment

What You’ll Need to Have for the Role:

8+ years of software development and technical leadership experience

3+ years of experience managing both full-time and contract teams

Proven track record of leading high-performing software engineering teams

Strong background in e-commerce, web applications, or related technology domains

Expert-level understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies

Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical talent

Technical Skills

Proficiency in modern web technologies and e-commerce platforms

Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns

Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices

Pay Range:

$137,300.00-$200,300.00 Annual
