Position Summary 

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Engineering Manager to lead Engineering Operations at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This key leadership role is responsible for leading Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and Equipment Maintenance functions. Ensuring the seamless execution of daily engineering activities while driving long-term operational excellence. 

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned engineering leader with a proven track record in regulated manufacturing environments, capable of developing high-performing teams and delivering sustainable improvements through Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies. 

What you will do:

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and Maintenance teams to support production and operational excellence. Ensure the effective day-to-day management of engineering operations, enabling consistent delivery of manufacturing performance and minimal production downtime. Lead the implementation of Business Excellence initiatives, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, waste reduction, and lean manufacturing. Develop and execute strategies to enhance equipment reliability, including robust preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Oversee engineering compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) and internal quality system requirements. Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, EH&S, Finance, and Supply Chain to align engineering priorities with site and global objectives. Manage departmental budgets and engineering improvement projects, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet business needs. Champion the development and retention of engineering talent through coaching, management and succession planning. 

What you will need:

Level 8 qualification in Mechanical/Electrical, Manufacturing, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. Progressive experience in a high-volume, highly regulated manufacturing environment, with at experience in a senior engineering leadership role. Strong background in the medical device or orthopaedic manufacturing sector highly desirable. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional engineering teams and driving operational performance improvements. Expert knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement frameworks. Understanding of medical device regulatory and quality standards including FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP.
