**Role Summary**
Splunk AppDynamics, a leader in observability solutions for both cloud and on-premises environments, empowers customers with end-to-end visibility across their entire application ecosystems, cloud, on-premises, or hybrid. Our team is dedicated to developing, maintaining, and supporting SaaS and on-premises offerings within the observability product suite.
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to build upon our application and data platform as we continue to innovate on application observability. We move fast and iterate quickly. We are passionate about solving customers’ problems. We have ambitious goals to build best-of-its-kind products. You will help the team win in a fast-growing market. Data platform is the heart of the AppDynamics architecture. We process more than 100 billion data packets per day, more than 5 peta byte of data flows through our platform. We are in 8 regions having 40 clusters of 7000 nodes. We ingest, process and store all the data that power the dashboards that our customers rely on for observing their infrastructure and their applications.
**What you'll get to do**
+ Lead a team that designs and builds highly scalable solutions
+ Lead a team of exceptionally capable and dedicated engineers and work with stakeholders from engineering to product management and customer support
+ Work in an open environment, work together to get things done and adapt to the team's changing needs
+ Foster the growth of your team and craft the organizational culture, focus on innovations that matter, strategic collaboration across teams and functions, and delivering customers outcome
+ Leverage technologies including Kafka, Java across different cloud environments like AWS and Azure to deliver solutions
**Must-have Qualifications**
+ 15+ years of experience in designing, developing and delivering highly scalable, distributed applications, products, and services.
+ 5+ Years management experience in leading and running a software engineering team.
+ Establish strategic direction and develop a roadmap for your engineering team to drive implementation of new features in the product portfolio.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing requirements, scope, and priorities.
+ Work closely with product teams, data engineers, software developers, and product managers to deliver on business goals.
+ Mentor team members in architecture principles, coding best practices, and system design.
+ Champion growth within your team, by developing clear roles, responsibilities and accountability for progress, learning, communication and meeting business objectives.
+ Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with teams to find solutions.
+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure the continuous development of their technical and professional skills.
+ Stay abreast of emerging trends in big data, machine learning, and distributed systems to recommend innovative solutions.
+ In-depth knowledge and proven track record of working in large scale data processing, streaming technology.
+ Prior experience of working with AWS, Kafka, Java, Dockers, Kubernetes
