Senior Engineer - Water

We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions. **Job Summary** We are seeking a Senior Water Engineer to join our growing Water Sector team in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you'll be collaborating with a bright and creative team and gaining exposure to a variety of projects across the Greater Toronto Area and Southwestern Ontario. **Responsibilities & Qualifications** **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Manage stormwater management projects including Master Plans, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, Functional Servicing Studies and detailed designs for both private sector and public sector clients in the areas of: + Watershed and sub-watershed management planning, including integration of ecology, hydrogeology, fluvial geomorphology and other disciplines to identify opportunities and constraints and support development applications. + Watershed and local scale hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; + Planning, design and analyses of stormwater management infrastructure; + Hydraulic analysis and design of channels, culverts, sewers, etc.; + Civil design of stormwater management facilities, natural channel corridors channels, etc. + Site scale and feature-based water balance analyses + Design, construction and monitoring Low Impact Development stormwater management infrastructure + Design drawings and specifications for stormwater infrastructure + Manage multi-disciplinary project teams, including sub-consultants + Direct, supervise, train and mentor team members on the various facets of stormwater infrastructure. + Financial management of projects including meeting budgets, resource management, change-order management, and client invoicing. + Participate in business development, maintain strong client relationships, identify and follow through on strategic opportunities. + Lead proposal efforts, prepare budgets and schedules, and on-going business development and liaison with clients + Collaborate with other Project Managers within TYLin to identify staffing needs and training requirements + Develop and maintain relationships with municipal/ approval agencies as well as developers and land owners. + Guide the team to establish consistency and quality assurance processes in the production of all deliverables, and manage the quality control of all submission materials. + Attend industry related conferences and events + Participate in company-wide quality initiatives and improvements through quality objectives such as facilitating departmental level quality plans and procedures. + Additional responsibilities as assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):** + Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation from PEO + 15+ years of experience in the areas of Stormwater Management for either Land Development or Municipal projects, with at least five 5 years in a Project Management position. + Strong technical expertise with in-depth knowledge of industry best practices and standards. + Project management experience in managing diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities. + Strong written and spoken command of the English language. + Demonstrated success in leading and motivating technical teams with a professional and results-driven approach. + Excellent organization, time management and negotiation skills. + Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions. + Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges. + High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way. + Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence. **Additional Information** TYLin is committed to employment equity and providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (‘AODA’).
