Job Summary -
You will be responsible for Packaging design for Industrial & Retail products.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Candidate will be responsible for designing Primary / Secondary & Tertiary packaging for Existing / New products & their Accessories
Develop new packaging systems and/or improve existing packaging systems to meet standards of quality, function, cost and merchandising using established and well-defined engineering procedures using CAD software
Solicit quotes from suppliers and consult with purchasing and production departments to determine the costs and feasibility of producing the proposed packaging
Collaborate with various functions in the organization like Product Management / Sourcing along with outside suppliers to determine cost & feasibility of proposed packaging
Provide Innovative, Creative & Sustainable packaging solutions for Sustaining & NPD projects
Remain abreast of trends in industrial / retail packaging & initiate projects related to packaging improvements to response to changing global sustainability objectives.
Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR) & Engineering Change Notices (ECN) for packaging designs
Identify & lead the cost reduction activities related to product packaging
Build & maintain relations with various suppliers for packaging, prototyping & production
Participate in Emerson sustainability efforts to identify and implement packaging alternatives to reduce the use of single use plastics and other environmentally related packaging.
Develop packaging procedures / work instruction for new & existing packaging designs
Place request to lab for packaging testing & further analyze the test results
Develop & maintain product engineering operating standards relating to packaging & labeling of products
Work closely with Graphics design group as & when necessary for developing packaging artwork / to provide necessary die-lines
Who You Are:
Packaging Engineer 1
For This Role, You Will Need:
Qualification - Engineering Graduate (Preferred – Mechanical or Packaging Engineering)
Masters in packaging technology or Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging will be an added advantage
Candidate should have experience of 5 to 7 years in design and development of packaging for Industrial products and retail displays after Graduation (Include Carton boxes & inserts / wooden pallets / retail packaging like Clamshell & Blister)
Require hands on packaging CAD tool like ArtiosCAD / PICADOR ( Preferred ArtiosCAD)
Good understanding of Engineering drawings / Standards & Specifications
(Knowledge on Engineering CAD tool will be added advantage)
Knowledge of Sustainable Packaging Regulations & Best Practices / Packaging test standards
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Exposure to work in a global work environment with efficient oral & written communication
