Senior Engineer PEB

Ø Purpose of Position

 

The job incumbent is responsible for performing of QHSE surveys and the inspection of equipment, products, installations, materials to determine their conformity with specified requirements (BV rules, International Instruments, National Regulations, etc). Carries out some tasks independently, with minimum supervision, and these may be on well identified or isolated assets. The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.

 

         

Ø Major Responsibilities

 

Site Inspection & Quality Assurance limited to TPI services in terms of reviewing Quality Assurance Plans, various documents generated during construction, on site inspection services at site and bought out items related to Civil and PEB work. Complete review of project specifications,  shop drawings of PEB sections, connection details, Raw materials of PEB, cladding and roofing material as approved by the client Preparation of Quality assurance plan and inspection test plan with frequency of testing for Raw material acceptance criteria Checking of MTCs, heat nos as per Manufacturer Dimensional checks of raw materials such as plates, structural steel sections, panels, liners, cladding sheets, decking sheets etc. welding consumables, bought out items such as bolt, nuts and washers In process inspection for cutting, fitouts and seaming, welding (Connection plate welding, flange and web connections), surface preparation for painting, primer process, paint applications, DFT checks, alignment Review WPS and PQR of welding operations, welder qualifications including witnessing testing of coupons Intermittent Supervision for strict quality control in compliance with QAP,ITP and work procedures Witnessing recommended on site NDT such as Ultrasonic thickness gauge, Dye penetration testing, RT,MPT alignment, fineness, painting DFT etc Identifies the defects like the pinholes, the potholes, the cracks, and the damages in the PEB members. Corrective actions on rectification on all the defects like the pinholes, the potholes, the cracks, and the damages in the PEB members. Maintain quality documents (checklist) record for checking and testing. Inspection before Dispatching Structural members on site,

1)Final inspection as per shop drawing.

2)Checking verification for thickness of paint (DFT) as per approved

specification and QAP.

3)Clearance of sections for erection on site with release note and heat nos for better traceability

4)Maintaining documentation and register for respective quality documents

Preparation of QAP and ITP as per the project specifications, latest approved GFCs, connection details and respective on site testing during erection as per codal provisions and allowable tolerances Preparation of the effective checklist of each activity of the erection Intermittent Supervision for strict quality control in compliance with QAP,ITP and work procedures, GFC during erection Maintaining strict control on acceptance criteria of incoming sections from the plant with checking of heat nos as per release notes as well as consumables Witnessing recommended on site testing on sections, connections such weld joints, identification of pinholes, bolts, washers etc Extending onsite training /demonstration to welders during erection and fit-outs Checking the quantity of the material i.e inward and stock on the site after erection with opening and closing balance status.

 

Ø Roles & Responsibilities for HSE

Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.                                                                                        To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.     Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers. Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects

Ø Qualification and Experience

                                                                                    

Graduate Engineer BE/ B.Tech (MECH.) with min. 8 to 10 years or Diploma with 10-12 years of relevant experience.

 

 

   

 

 

 

 

Skills & Qualities:

 

Should be a ‘Go to Market’ attitude personnel with ability to connect people Excellent interpersonal skills Should have good leadership abilities and skills. Good communication and presentation skills.
