Senior Engineer - Facade

**Core Functions**
+ Provide continuous feedback to the Local Head of CRC on the effectiveness of the protocols and processes in place with a view to continuous improvement
+ Develop positive professional relationship with the WSP UK Team, communicating openly about project progress
+ Participate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP
+ Identify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processes
+ Manage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leader
+ Identify and flag additional fees to the Local Head of CRC
+ Complete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines
**Mandatory Skills:**
+ Conduct research on potential cladding materials.
+ Prepare design reports for various stages of the project, including concept, scheme, and detail.
+ Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, environmental engineers, fire engineers, acousticians, and contractors.
+ Assist in writing/reviewing reports.
+ Proven experience in a façade design/engineering role or other relevant industry experience in building physics and sustainability design
+ A willingness to progress towards Incorporated Engineer / Chartered Engineer status with a recognized professional institution.
+ An interest in the facades/cladding market.
+ A desire to understand the impact of façade systems on the structure and environmental performance of buildings.
+ An interest in environmental aspects of façade design, including thermal performance, daylight, and solar control.
+ In-depth technical and design skills related to building envelope design and detailing, construction techniques, procurement routes and risk assessment
+ Ability to maintain personal effectiveness particularly during periods of higher-than-normal workload
+ Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD design software (e.g. Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper).
+ Proficiency in Façade Embodied Carbon Assessment will be an added advantage.
+ Understanding of and some ability to use analysis software tools (structural or thermal) such as Strand7, ANSYS, Solid Works, Mepla, Vitrages, Bisco, Trisco, Builddesk or Flixo will be an advantage.
+ Familiarity with international codes including European standards will be a plus.
