Senior Engineer - DevOps

OneMain Financial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud solutions for our organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in AWS services, a strong grasp of infrastructure and security principles, and demonstrated leadership in driving cloud transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a passion for Infrastructure as Code and building robust delivery pipelines. He/She will work with a team of talented software and site reliability engineers, in developing scalable and efficient Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and application delivery pipelines.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate reliability and security into our systems, ensuring they meet compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both software engineering and systems administration, with a strong understanding of FedRAMP concepts, requirements and security practices.

Responsibilities

Cloud Solution Architecture & Design

· Work directly with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements.

· Translate technical specifications into detailed architectural diagrams and implementation roadmaps.

· Design and implement solutions that are fault-tolerant, highly available, and capable of auto-scaling.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

· Lead architectural discussions and influence key technical decisions.

· Guide development and DevOps teams through solution implementation and cloud adoption.

Infrastructure Deployment & Automation

· Define and implement cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.

· Enforce security by design, applying AWS-native security tools, IAM policies, and encryption standards.

· Ensure adherence to industry and organizational compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST).

Cost Optimization

· Identify opportunities for cost savings through proper service selection, usage monitoring, and architectural changes.

· Implement tagging strategies and budget tracking across cloud environments

Required Qualifications:

· 3-5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineering with expertise in managing hybrid and on-prem infrastructure in addition to cloud-based systems.

· Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker).

· Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, or Shell.

· Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation and Terraform

· Deep understanding of cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks

· Solid knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, etc.)

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information systems preferred

Target base salary range is xx-xx, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
