As a Senior Engineer for Optical Networks in the Partner Enable Hub domain, you will work in the Nokia Optical Network portfolio to support deployment of Partners Nokia Optical Network solutions.

Nokia Optical Networks focuses on enabling service providers, web scale companies, and large enterprises to build high-capacity, reliable, and secure optical networks. Nokia Optical Networks offers a comprehensive portfolio of optical transport solutions, including Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), Optical Transport Network (OTN), and packet-optical transport.

As a ON Senior Engineer, you’ll work in the ON portfolio to support deployment of Nokia’s Optical Network solutions, including 3rd party products where required — acting as a cross-functional expert with strong curiosity to learn architectural understanding and providing hands-on support capabilities.

You will collaborate closely with customers, architects, integration teams, and R&D to both shape and support robust, scalable designs. This role offers high-level design engagement involvement with hands-on troubleshooting and deployment validation — ideal for engineers who thrive at the opportunity to involved in design, delivery, and support.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field. Experience in telecom technical support, engineering, or operations roles Understanding of optical networking principles, including WDM, OTN, and packet-optical transport Experience with Nokia optical network equipment and software, including the Nokia 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) and Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) Certification in Nokia Optical Network solutions, such as the Nokia Optical Network Certification Experience with other optical network vendors, such as Cisco or Ciena Knowledge of emerging optical networking technologies, including quantum computing and artificial intelligence
  Be part of customer-facing ON engagements, support in architecture activities and technical troubleshooting. Participate in high- and low-level design reviews, and validation for customer deployments. Provide guidance on Nokia's validated Data Centre Fabric design best practices and solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues in multivendor, multi-domain environments. Reproduce customer issues in a lab setting, validate fixes, and manage escalations with R&D. Support the full life cycle of Fixed Network deployments — from integration, staging, and testing, through to post-deployment operations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Product Line Management, Care, and Pre-sales to ensure successful solution adoption and satisfaction. Maintain ongoing customer interaction to provide updates, guidance, and maintain alignment with SLAs.
