Job DescriptionThe Senior Engineer defines, develops, and integrates reliability into the design of new semiconductor packages.Work with cross-functional teams from multiple sites to implement reliability testing and validate the reliability results to ensure the new semiconductor packages are qualified and introduced into production in a timely manner while meeting all electrical, performance, reliability and quality requirements. Take responsibility for product reliability risk assessment, as well as new Technology development programs and new NAND/ASIC development Quality and Reliability. Develop a comprehensive Q&R guidance library encompassing engineering work criteria, statistical Design of Experiments (DOE), sampling plans, and metric/methodology instructions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and validate reliability modeling to predict product performance at design stage.Address reliability failures in technology and product development using DMAIC, RCA, and 8DR methodologies to identify the root causes and provide solutions/dispositions or improvements. Prepare and present reliability risk assessment report to management and other stakeholders.Recommend and drive continuous improvement/innovation ideas to enhance product/process reliability, reduce cost, and improve quality.

Qualifications

Required:

This position requires a candidate with MS degree or above in semiconductor reliability/electronic packaging/Mechanical/Materials Engineering or related. Knowledge of semiconductor design/development/manufacturing/packaging/testing/modeling is highly desired.Familiar with packaging reliability failure mechanism.

Preferred:

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Cadence APD, and Finite Element Analysis are required.Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. 

Skills:

Working experience/knowledge related to semiconductor packaging materials from both mechanical/material property/electrical integrity perspective.FMEA/sampling plan/lean six sigma methodologyDesign of Experiments, statistical techniques, and package failure analysis techniques are requiredCharacterization skills for defect identification/interpretation, e.g. SEM/FIB/TEM/EDS.Problem solving skill such as DMAIC/8D.
