BASF is currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province. Announced in July 2018 and officially commenced in November 2019, BASF Zhanjiang Verbund Site Project would be operated under the sole responsibility of BASF. BASF Zhanjiang Verbund site would ultimately be built into a role model for smart manufacturing and sustainable production by utilizing the digital technologies and applying the high safety standards.
What you can expect
In the product family "Digital Laboratory" we continuously optimize and innovate the digital laboratory support and solution landscape, including validated environments. We enable automized laboratory data capture and seamless data flows as key foundation for subsequent data integration and analysis. We provide on-site laboratory support and tailored solutions to meet specific needs of laboratories.
Main Tasks
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with heads of plant laboratories and laboratory technicians to understand their requirements, gather valuable feedback to improve systems and processes.
• Technical Consultancy: Provide expert support and expand highly efficient laboratory data systems, focusing on chromatography data systems (CDS) and Laboratory Data Management Systems (LIMS) in cooperation with both internal and external teams.
• System Planning and Support: Plan and set up new CDS systems, provide operational support, and manage migrations of existing systems to ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruptions.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement systematic quality assurance processes to validate accurate data processing and ensure compliance with BASF's cyber security and data protection guidelines.
• Global Communication: Maintain effective communication with the digital laboratory team in China and other global digitalization teams to ensure alignment and collaboration across regions.
• Incident Documentation: Document incidents and their solutions in Service Now and central knowledge repositories to build a comprehensive knowledge base for future reference.
• Project Management: Manage small projects within the Digital Lab environment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals and objectives.
What we expect
• Bachelor's degree with minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in supporting complex IT systems within the laboratory environment. Proficiency in supporting CDS is essential, with a specialization in OpenLab being highly desirable.
• LIMS: Experience with Laboratory Data Management Systems such as LabVantage, LabWare, or equivalent is advantageous.
• Communication Skills: Excellent presentation and communication skills are required.
• Good understanding of application server (e.g. JBoss); experience working with Linux or Windows-based software packages and tools.
• Knowledge in the support of Microsoft and Linux OS client and server systems.
• Admin skills (medium) for SQL-servers, with general network / infrastructure skills (basics).
• Experience in process mapping, gap analysis and driving improvements.
• Knowledge of working in regulated environments (e.g., GLP, GMP, ISO), PMP is a plus.
