What is the Opportunity?

 

United Engineers and Constructors, an Aecon Company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience supporting modification work at nuclear power facilities. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of engineers and designers at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant.

 

What You'll Do Here:

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the Responsible Electrical Engineer developing nuclear plant modification packages. Perform electrical calculations in support of the modification package development Provide field installation support to the client’s implementation team.  Plans and manage electrical work activities to ensure successful task execution while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence.  Monitors day-to-day activities and consistently demonstrate the ability to proactively identify potential discipline problems or opportunities. Clearly understands the electrical scope of work and requirements.  

 

What You Bring to The Team:

 

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university

 

Professional License:

Professional Engineering (PE) License is Preferred 

 

Minimum Experience:

Ten (10) years of related electrical design experience with nuclear plant engineering and design.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a Citizen of the U.S. and able to obtain unescorted access to a U.S. nuclear power plant. Current or recent design qualifications to the Standard Design Procedure at a commercial nuclear power plant. The ability to prepare documents and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Preferred Requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge of switchyard design, protective relaying, transformers, circuit breakers and switches. Demonstrated knowledge of IEEE, ISA, and NEMA standards.

 

 

Level Specific Responsibilities:

Takes ownership of engineering work performed on a project. Experience working with others in a Project Team environment. Strong written and oral communications skills.  Analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment. Field experience, and ability to perform site walk-downs.
