Job DescriptionSenior Energy Modeling Consultant
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced professional in energy modeling to join our Building Physics team. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing advanced energy models for all types of buildings using simulation software, analyzing results, proposing innovative energy efficiency strategies, and collaborating closely with design teams to achieve high-performance buildings.
Responsibilities:
Develop energy simulations using specialized software for both new and existing buildings.Analyze simulation results and design innovative energy solutions.Coordinate with architectural and engineering (MEP) design teams.Review technical documentation for energy audits and certifications.Create building geometries and develop comprehensive energy models.Prepare Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) using official tools (HULC, CYPETHERM).Manage energy simulation projects in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1 standards.Conduct energy audits and prepare technical reports with practical recommendations and techno-economic feasibility studies.QualificationsRequirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or related field.Ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and their representation in simulation software.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts.Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage project documentation throughout its lifecycle.Technical knowledge of HVAC design documentation and HVAC DesignProficiency in software such as REVIT, AutoCAD, and energy simulation tools like IES VE.Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role.Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).Proven experience in energy audits for industrial and/or commercial buildings.Strong interest in building physics, energy modeling, energy efficiency, and sustainability.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CFD simulations (airflow, thermal dispersion, etc.), building acoustics, and evacuation studies.Knowledge of scripting within IES VE.Additional InformationAbout AECOM
