Senior Embryologist - REI/Fertility - Bozeman REI/FERTILITY BOZEMAN - 600.7610 (BILLINGS CLINIC BOZEMAN AMBULATORY) req10033 Shift: Day Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater) Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Exempt) Starting Wage DOE Performs advanced assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures and laboratory testing, playing a critical role in patient care and outcomes. Duties include technical leadership, quality assurance responsibilities, training and mentoring staff, and collaboration with clinicians and lab leadership. The Senior Embryologist works independently and is accountable for complex decision-making affecting embryology, andrology, and laboratory operations. Essential Job Functions + Performs all ART procedures including: + Oocyte retrieval and identification. + IVF and ICSI fertilization. + Embryo assessment, biopsy, and transfer. + Cryopreservation and warming of embryos. + Conducts andrology testing and procedures including: + Semen analysis. + Semen preparation for IUI and IVF. + Sperm cryopreservation. + Maintains and monitors culture systems, incubators, and lab equipment. + Receives and catalogs biological samples per protocol. + Serves as a technical and procedural mentor to embryologists and lab staff. + Leads training and competency assessments. + Assists in onboarding new hires and developing continuing education content. + Supports coordination and execution of educational activities for residents, students, or fellows. + Assists in maintaining accreditation readiness (CAP, CLIA, FDA, TJC). + Oversees QA/QC processes including documentation, monitoring, and proficiency testing. + Develops, implements, and reviews SOPs, protocols, and safety procedures. + Coordinates competency testing, validates new assays, and troubleshoots technical issues. + Supports lab billing processes (CPT coding, charge capture). + Maintains supply inventory and assists in purchasing decisions. + Contributes to research projects as a departmental liaison. + Develops presentations for educational and departmental meetings. + Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance. + Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. Minimum Qualifications Education + 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field Experience + 4 Year Experience in an ART/IVF laboratory. + Demonstrated proficiency in ART techniques (must have personally completed 60 ART procedures with at least 30 under supervision). + Strong understanding and application of CAP, CLIA, TJC, and FDA standards. + Proficiency in laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality Control systems. + Must be eligible to work in a high-complexity CLIA-certified lab environment.
