Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description

Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer, to join our multicultural team.

 

At Danfoss Climate Solutions we engineer environmentally sustainable solutions for Air Conditioning, Heating and Cooling applications.

Our Embedded Software Engineers are developing a new standard platform of Flexible Control solutions, with the ambition of empowering customers to develop their own application software for a greener future.

 

If you like the challenge of high-complexity embedded systems, where multiple SW components are coordinated by an automotive-grade RTOS, if you believe that robustness, performances, flexibility, connectivity and scalability through open standards are the foundations of a modern system, then you will find the right context to express and grow your talent.

 

Your key focus will be on developing and integrating embedded software components for our next generation programmable electronic controllers. Your tasks will span between in-house development and 3rd party software component integration in complex embedded architectures. - End-to-end integration from the field level up to the cloud is an integral part of the job.

 

The location of the role will be our Innovation Campus in Mestre - Venice (Italy).

We expect you to work mainly from the office, with some smart-working flexibility.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer you are responsible for specifying, designing, testing and implementing complex software. You will also be expected to contribute in restructuring existing SW and mentor new junior developers.

 

Your main tasks will be to:  

Prepare detailed requirement specifications for in-house and/or outsourced developments Develop embedded software for high-end microcontrollers (often ARM based) Develop the embedded software using C/C++ Develop and integrate in an automotive-grade multi-tasking RTOS Perform test and validation on the product you are developing and the ecosystem around it Cooperate with internal SW architects and peer teams Cooperate in onboarding Danfoss projects from different BUs into the Platform Cooperate with Hardware engineers in troubleshooting and optimizing new HW designs Cooperate with external partners, customers, IT departments

 

 

Background & Skills Educational background in Engineering (Software, Electronic, Automation, Telecom) or equivalent culture Proven experience (5+ years) in Embedded Software development for automotive- or industrial-grade complex systems Fluent in C/C++ and version control tools (Git) Deep knowledge of RTOSs and multi-threading coordination mechanisms Experience with industrial communication protocols on the TCP/IP stack, or automotive/industrial buses like CANbus and Modbus Basic knowledge of IEC-61131 programming languages Experience with IoT architectures and communication protocols Ability to understand hardware schematics and layouts - Hardware development and PCB industrialization experience is a plus Good knowledge of English and Italian languages, written and spoken Ability to communicate both technical and business matters in a clear and concise language Danfoss – Engineering Tomorrow
