Senior Electrical Systems Test Engineer

The Electrical Systems Test Engineer will be responsible for the test and validation of low voltage systems and actively participate in electrical design and integration of all interfacing subsystems. You will spearhead vehicle system level testing activities and ensure all critical design requirements are met in all operating conditions. You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop and support the launch of next generation vehicle platform architectures for electric vehicles. + Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for low voltage power electronics to both validate the system-level performance of electrical architecture, and stress the system to reveal any design weaknesses + Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to establish robust testing strategies and align specific pass/fail criteria + Review and analyze test data, engaging the appropriate engineering teams when anomalous results are observed + Support systems integration efforts to bring up and debug various electrical test assets such as bucks, labcars, and prototype vehicles + Build and grow the electrical test lab, ensuring accurate data from all relevant test cases can be captured, analyzed, and distributed accordingly + Organize, maintain, and execute system level vehicle Design Validation Plans, prioritizing based on design novelty, complexity, and risk + Provide technical guidance to cross-functional team members and share testing knowledge and best practices + Support prototype development and adapt to rapid design concept iteration, collecting and distributing critical data points to hardware and software engineering teams You'll have... + B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields + Strong Electrical and Systems Engineering fundamentals + 5+ years of experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN & Automotive Ethernet + 5+ years of experience leading electrical testing from concept through development + Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, software/hardware tool development, functional safety, network and diagnostics process Even better, you may have... + Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields + Experience with data collection systems and electronic lab equipment + Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills + Experience in leading product development from concept to deployment + Strong written and verbal communication skills + An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team + A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
