About the Role
The Senior Hardware Engineer plans, designs, develops, implements and leads circuits, subcircuits and components involving micro-controllers and associated analog and digital interface circuits. Must function well in a team environment but also be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Interaction with Sales, Marketing, Program Managers, Engineering Team Members, Product Validation, and Manufacturing on an ongoing basis is required. Champions continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs and comply with automotive specifications.
Your Responsibilities
Researching, designing, and testing circuit functions and user interfaces to meet company and customer needs.Incorporate customer requirements, product specifications and regulations into the design, ensuring compliance with MML (Mirrors) development process, reliability, quality, timing, cost, safety and manufacturing feasibility.Developing existing systems by analyzing and identifying areas for performance enhancements, cost reductions, or other modifications/improvements.Maintaining systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting hardware defects.Conduct effective design reviews with peers, suppliers and customers when required.Consults and collaborates internally and externally to create robust electro-mechanical systems.Effectively communicates with the product team, suppliers, customers, and the manufacturing plant with minimal guidance from engineering management and personnel.Investigating new components and technologies for future product applications.Creating technical specifications and test plans.Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, sales and marketing professionals.Consulting clients/colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance of software systems and asking questions to obtain information, clarify details and implement information.Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications.Problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to best meet the needs of the project.Must be able to operate standard and specialized equipment/tools related to the job. Ability to calculate and analyze data, generate reports, present information, etc.Understand various levels of communication protocol such as LIN, CAN and others such as I2C, UART.ASPICE, ALM, PLM, Sprints, WCCA, Functional Safety, Cybersecurity, Repository, Version Control, Design Reviews, Bench Testing, Unit Testing, System Testing, Plywood Buck, Vehicle Testing are key to the success of the team.Who We Are Looking For
