We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Electrical with an opportunity to have a significant impact on the business. Based in Elyria, OH or Rockford, IL. You’ll apply the latest technologies, equipment, and research facilities to bring your ideas to life. Your responsibilities will consist of product research, development, and sustainment. This role is encouraged to champion technology that enables sophisticated features and solutions to improve customer experience and drive growth. Because of the nature of the technology and need for constant exploration in this growing space, this position has a hands-on, research and development focus.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Design and develop innovative electronic solutions for products serving our professional electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and utility customers. Investigate and integrate emerging technologies that enable new features or improved performance. Conduct concept feasibility studies, prototype evaluation, and technical risk assessments for new product initiatives. Lead system-level design activities, including architecture development and system requirements definition. Execute detailed circuit design, schematic development, and PCB layout using best practices in simulation, analysis, and industry standards compliance. Define and coordinate product validation, safety, and regulatory compliance testing throughout the development cycle. Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, software, mechanical, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product realization. Facilitate a seamless transition from development to manufacturing by defining test procedures, design-for-manufacturability guidelines, and supplier collaboration. Support root cause analysis and resolution of product issues encountered in manufacturing, field use, or the supply chain. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers through hands-on problem-solving, debugging, and design reviews.  Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field.  5 + years proven ability with electrical engineering for product design.   Legal authorization to work in the United States—sponsorship will not be provided for this role.  Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and schematic interpretation. Strong understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software integration. Experience with design and test of battery-powered or low-power embedded electronics. Familiarity with signal conditioning, sensor integration, and noise mitigation techniques. Knowledge of electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards such as UL, CE, FCC, and IEC. Background in environmental and durability considerations for rugged or portable equipment. Experience with product design for manufacturing and high-volume production, including PCBAs and cable assemblies. Familiarity with compliance testing and validation workflows for electronics. Experience using tools such as Altium Designer, SPICE simulation, and lab instrumentation for prototyping and debug. Interest or experience in tools, trades, or industrial product environments.
