ABOUT THE POSITION

Senior Electrical Engineer – Transit & Rail | Hybrid | New York, NY

 

VHB is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Transit & Rail to join our dynamic and growing Transportation practice in New York. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex transit infrastructure projects while helping expand and shape our Transit & Rail Power group.

 

Responsibilities

Prepare design drawings and documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, proposals, calculations, and studiesPrepare final design documentation for electrical infrastructure which could include facility power and systems, lighting, low voltage and security systems for various infrastructure projects in the northeastDevelop plans, specifications, reports, and analyses that meet project scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirementsReview contractor design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with system requirementsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff

Skills and Attributes

Familiarity with railway infrastructure systems design preferredDemonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writingTeam-oriented with the ability to work independentlyStrong technical and critical thinking skillsDetail-oriented and committed to high-quality deliverablesStrong project and task management abilities

Qualifications

8+ years of electrical design engineering experience requiredProficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation requiredBS in Electrical Engineering or related field required; MS preferredKnowledge of industry safety code requirements and standardsProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $115,000 - $148,000. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
