Your Role:
As a Senior EHS Specialist at our Dekalb site, you will provide ergonomics, and human factors support directly to all sites within St. Louis. Housed within the Industrial Hygiene Program, you will have the opportunity reduce workplace losses and learn new skills in diverse environments. Specific responsibilities include:
Conducting and documenting detailed ergonomic risk assessments on processes at all sites in St. LouisDevelop, implement, and maintain any trainings associated with ergonomicsIdentify risk treatment solutions for highest-risk processes and work with project managers and site management to implement solutionsPerform industrial hygiene assessments for non-ergonomic issuesInteract routinely with site management, supervision, and personnel on EHS related mattersRespond to and assist in investigation of employee injuriesBe the subject matter expert (SME) for ergonomics within St. Louis EHSOther duties as assigned
Physical Attributes:
Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, respirator, and glovesWalk and climb steps routinelyMay require work in ambient temperature and humidity environments
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Hygiene, Environmental Science, or other EHS discipline 5+ years of direct ergonomics experience in the chemical, specialty chemical, or pharmaceutical industry2+ years of experience performing ergonomic risk assessments
Or
Masters Degree in Hygiene, Environmental Science, or other EHS discipline2+ years of direct ergonomics experience in the chemical, specialty chemical, or pharmaceutical industry2+ years of experience performing ergonomic risk assessments
Preferred qualifications:
Certified Professional Ergonomist, Certified Human Factors Professional, or willing to obtain certification within 3 yearsknowledge of IH, Safety, and Environmental regulations and standardsExperience in public speaking, including meeting with and providing training to site personnelExperience with hazardous communication and industrial hygiene
