Description
Robert Half is seeking a highly experienced and organized Senior Dispatcher to oversee the coordination of personnel, vehicles, and equipment for operational needs. This role involves managing dispatch schedules, optimizing routing, mentoring junior dispatch staff, and ensuring seamless communication across teams. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong leadership skills and experience in logistics or dispatch operations.
Key Responsibilities
+ Supervise and manage the dispatch team’s daily operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and the efficient allocation of resources.
+ Assign and coordinate personnel, vehicles, or equipment based on operational demands.
+ Monitor and adjust dispatch schedules to account for delays or unexpected issues while minimizing disruptions.
+ Mentor and train junior dispatchers, providing guidance on processes and best practices.
+ Collaborate with internal teams to address issues, improve workflows, and optimize routing strategies.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
+ Analyze operational data to identify trends and provide insights for improvement opportunities.
+ Prepare reports related to dispatch performance and present them to management as required.
+ Address escalated concerns from employees or customers with professionalism and efficiency.
+ Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities in the company’s database or dispatch systems.
Requirements
+ 3+ years of prior experience in dispatching or logistics roles, with supervisory experience preferred.
+ Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to make real-time decisions under pressure.
+ Proficiency in dispatch management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Ability to mentor and motivate team members to achieve operational goals.
+ Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong knowledge of routing strategies and resource allocation for efficiency.
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced coursework in logistics or business administration is a plus.
