We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Director of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead our SRE team. This role will be pivotal in enhancing the reliability, availability, and performance of our services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building and maintaining scalable and resilient systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Leadership & Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of SREs, setting clear goals and objectives while driving a culture of reliability and operational excellence.
• Service Reliability: Define and implement strategies to improve service reliability, availability, and performance across all platforms.
• Incident Management: Oversee incident response processes, ensuring quick recovery and root cause analysis for continuous improvement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure that reliability is built into the development lifecycle.
• Capacity Planning: Manage capacity planning and demand forecasting to ensure optimal resource allocation and scaling strategies.
• Monitoring & Metrics: Establish and maintain monitoring solutions to provide visibility into system performance and reliability metrics.
• Automation & Tools: Drive the adoption of automation tools and practices to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
• Budget Management: Manage budget and resource allocation for the SRE team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on reliability initiatives, incidents, and performance metrics.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or site reliability engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of cloud computing, distributed systems, microservices architecture, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellence.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
