WCPO is seeking a Senior Director of Sales to lead our talented sales management team in creating impactful advertising solutions for local and national businesses. In this role, you'll develop strategies across multiple platforms including OTT video, search strategies, social media, digital display, email targeting, and broadcast television. WHAT YOU'LL DO:Collaborate with the General Manager and other Scripps managers to establish and accomplish station objectivesCreate sales budgets and forecast weekly station revenue to achieve annual revenue targetsManage all broadcast and digital inventory, setting and adjusting station rates to maximize revenueOversee advertising sales to clients/agencies, including local and national travel for client meetingsMaintain high visibility in the market through meetings with clients, advertisers and community organizationsCollaborate with other sales leaders to create best practices that optimize team performanceEnsure sales managers and sellers utilize Scripps Sales Process (SSP) resources and toolsCreate and manage enterprise or local station initiatives and new business projectsWork with Sales Managers to train, develop and motivate the local sales teamFoster career growth and development of the sales team to build a pipeline of talentProvide training and developmental coaching for sales managers across all aspects of sales managementManage personnel issues effectivelyInterface with station's national rep firm to set goals and hold the firm accountableEstablish local market value through knowledge of competition's strengths and weaknessesWHAT YOU'LL NEED:Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience preferred10+ years proven success in media sales, including at least 3 years of management responsibilityInventory, pricing, and political advertising/guidelines experienceExperience in agency and direct strategic account management, broadcast inventory and digital/video capabilitiesWHAT YOU'LL BRING:Strong analytical abilities to foresee potential pitfalls while remaining positive about achieving benefitsFacilitative problem-solving abilitiesDecision-making authority and willingness to accept decision-making responsibilityStrong initiative to tackle new and difficult challengesEffectiveness in a variety of formal presentation settings both inside and outside the organizationProven and effective leadership skills that foster open dialogue and empower othersStrong coaching skills with ability to provide feedback and developmental coaching with empathyAbility to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentAdvanced oral and written communication skillsAdvanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and ZoomWORK ENVIRONMENT:Normal office environmentSome travel requiredDriving required.
