Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director to join our Strategy and Financial Modeling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives, creating financial models, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making processes. This role requires a deep understanding of alternative investments (e.g., private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and private equity), exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively.
What Is in It for You:
Lead the development of financial models to evaluate new strategic initiatives, M&A, partnerships, capital deployment, and organic growth strategies
Partner with executive leadership and business unit heads to support strategic planning and decision-making
Oversee long-term financial forecasting, scenario planning, capital planning, and valuation analysis
Build models that analyze product and Client-level profitability to make informed recommendations
Lead the development of C-level and Board materials related to strategy and financial performance and outlook
Build and maintain robust frameworks for corporate development and capital allocation
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Capital & Treasury, Investor Relations, Sales & Business Development, and other Sun Life corporate functions
Drive continuous improvement of financial modeling standards, templates, and planning tools
Mentor a high-performing team of strategy & finance professionals
Stay current on alternative asset management industry trends, macroeconomic developments, and competitive dynamics
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Strategic thinking – ability to synthesize complex inputs into actionable insights and long-term planning
Advanced financial modeling – expert-level proficiency in building, auditing, and managing complex models (DCF, LBO, scenario analysis)
Strong business acumen – deep understanding of asset management business models, financial drivers, and industry KPIs

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, strategy/ management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development
Strong understanding of alternative investments is highly preferred, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and private credit
Demonstrated career progression, with a track record of increasing responsibility and advancement, reflecting strong performance, leadership potential, and impact
Demonstrated success in leading strategic finance initiatives at the enterprise or business unit level
Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and financial planning tools
