Senior Director, State and Local Government Relations – Northwest Region

About this role:

Reporting to the Head of State and Local Government Relations, this individual contributor is responsible for advancing the company’s public policy objectives through direct engagement with state and local legislative bodies, elected officials, and key stakeholders across Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.  The position is responsible for advancing the company’s public policy objectives through direct advocacy, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement.  This position offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based in Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Billings, MT; Boise, ID or Cheyenne, WY.  The Wells Fargo job profile is Senior Lead Government Relations Specialist.


In this role, you will:

Drive state and local advocacy efforts across the across a six-state Northwest region

Develop and execute regional strategies aligned with legislative and regulatory priorities

Monitor, interpret, and assess the impact of public policy developments at the state and local levels

Provide counsel to senior leadership on emerging policy issues and their potential implications

Establish and maintain relationships with policymakers, trade associations, and external partners

Lead lobbying efforts and provide guidance on political engagement and PAC strategy

Design and implement public affairs campaigns to support business objectives

Collaborate with external organizations to align advocacy efforts and advance shared objectives


Required Qualifications:

7+ years of Government Relations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

Experience working with elected officials on public policy issues in the Northwest Region

Experience developing and implementing advocacy strategies that achieve public policy goals

Experience representing the financial services industry in a lobbying capacity

Experience identifying, tracking, and reporting on legislative and regulatory issues

Experience presenting information that persuades, and enhances understanding at all levels

Experience counseling senior leaders on public policy matters

Experience managing relationships with trade associations and external stakeholders


Job Expectations:

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

1300 SW 5th Avenue - Portland, OR ($175,000 to $279,000)

2324 Overland Avenue - Billings, MT ($159,000 to $254,000)

877 West Main Street - Boise, ID ($159,000 to $254,000)

1701 Capitol Avenue - Cheyenne, WY ($159,000 to $254,000)

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
