About the Team
The Quality Engineering team at Nutanix is small but highly capable, comprising experienced engineers dedicated to achieving quality excellence across our product portfolio. Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, the team ensures that Nutanix consistently delivers superior products. Known for their deep expertise and collaborative approach, the team plays a vital role in bridging the gap between hardware and software quality while continuously evolving to meet industry and customer needs.
Your Role
Team Leadership
+ Lead and inspire a high-performing team of 3-4 senior quality engineers, fostering a culture of professional growth and continuous improvement.
+ Provide vision and mentorship, ensuring the team is equipped to address challenges and execute quality initiatives effectively.
Supplier Relationship Management
+ Establish and maintain strong partnerships with component suppliers and contract manufacturers, to align on quality standards and metrics.
+ Influence supplier processes and drive improvements to ensure the highest quality for Nutanix’s hardware components.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Partner with SW/HW engineering, product management, and customer support teams to address quality concerns and enhance product outcomes.
+ Facilitate organizational alignment on quality initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of quality processes across all product lines.
Customer Advocacy
+ Act as a trusted advocate for customer quality concerns, managing escalations and translating technical issues into actionable long term solutions.
+ Provide timely responses to customer issues and communicate improvements effectively to key stakeholders.
Strategic Quality Management
+ Implement Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to optimize quality processes for both hardware and software.
+ Host and lead monthly company-wide quality reviews, delivering insights into product performance and driving action plans to resolve quality challenges.
+ Influence Nutanix’s broader quality strategy, aligning initiatives with the company’s goals as a software-first organization.
What You Will Bring
Educational Background
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience and Skills
+ Experience: At least 12 years in quality or product engineering roles, with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership positions.
+ Technical Expertise: Proven mastery of Six Sigma, Lean, and root cause analysis methodologies.
+ Supplier Management: Demonstrated success in managing supplier relationships and driving quality improvements.
+ Customer-Centric Approach: A strong track record in managing customer escalations and delivering effective quality solutions.
+ Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
