The Senior Director, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Fundraising, works collaboratively as a member of the Division of Philanthropy to assist the Assistant Vice President of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising with coordination of strategy and oversight of Dana-Farber & the Jimmy Fund’s largest, signature, P2P events. This includes the annual Jimmy Fund Walk, the nation’s largest single-day walk along the famed Boston Marathon® course, and Dana-Farber’s team of 500+ runners in the annual Boston Marathon®. Additional P2P events include the Boston Half, the Falmouth Road Race, and growing involvement with marathons both nationally and internationally. These programs raise on average $20M annually and this position is responsible for the stewardship, cultivation, and ongoing engagement of thousands of participants and their community of supporters to grow fundraising results. This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

Responsibilities• Lead the participant management strategy and portfolio review process to establish cultivation and stewardship strategies for P2P participants and donors to best increase participant’s giving and engagement and oversee implementation of all components, in coordination with the AVP and fellow team members;
• Assess donor impact and effectiveness of all cultivation initiatives; monitor and benchmark cultivation practices of peer institutions; and propose program enhancements, as needed;
• Provide oversight and direction to team of 9 staff, focused on engaging, stewarding, cultivating, and retaining event participants; train staff on frontline fundraising techniques to maximize engagement and revenue among P2P fundraisers;
• Collaborate with members of Annual Giving, Major Gifts, and Planned Giving, to identify and present opportunities to engage participants even further with the Division of Philanthropy;
• Directly manage a portfolio of P2P participants, prospects, and event revenue;
• Provide supervision, training, professional development and growth opportunities for staff;
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Jimmy Fund to identify best practices and areas for innovation and growth;
• Assume other duties as necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a team of 9 staff members, including an Associate Director, 2 Assistant Directors, 4 Officers, a Program Coordinator and an Assistant.
High school diploma or equivalency required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 8+ years’ relevant work experience required preferably in a Philanthropy setting; previous direct report and personnel management experience is preferred; Philanthropy, volunteer, and direct donor contact experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Organized and detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills; possess the ability to work well with DFCI Departments and donor/volunteer constituencies; problem solving skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong word processing and Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.

This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. Some travel, attending events as well as off-site meetings with participants on a regular basis. Speak on behalf of Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund at several events. Requires light lifting for event set-up. Weekend and night work is required occasionally. Attendance at signature events required.
