JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Insurance Operations Management is responsible for all facets of insurance operations, including licensing, risk management, errors and omissions (E&O) management, compliance policy administration, and carrier management. This role, reporting directly to the SVP of Insurance, will spearhead improvements in insurance-related processes and serve as the business owner for insurance technology systems, such as agency management systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Insurance Program Management
+ Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive insurance strategies, policies, and programs that support organizational goals and regulatory requirements
+ Manage relationships with stakeholders including negotiating compliance processes and addressing areas of improvement
+ Oversee the E&O process, ensuring timely resolution and effective collaboration with insurers and legal counsel
+ Lead compliance risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
+ Manage regulatory filings, renewals, and compliance reporting
+ Deliver insights and dashboards to senior leadership on agent compliance metrics
+ Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of insurance-related risks throughout the organization, collaborating with internal teams to establish robust processes and controls.
+ Oversee agency licenses and renewals, staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes (especially insurance codes) to adapt risk management strategies and maintain compliance.
+ Ensure continuous broker compliance across all U.S. state and federal jurisdictions. Monitor evolving regulatory expectations (e.g., NAIC, Lloyd's) to ensure internal preparedness.
+ E&O Management:
+ Oversee the errors and omissions (E&O) management process, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of errors and omissions, while managing complex or high-value cases with stakeholders directly
+ Analyze E&O data to identify trends and recommend improvements to reduce frequency and severity
+ Provide proactive and detailed updates to senior leadership on risk exposure, E&O performance and insurance outcomes
+ Lead remote and on site branch audits to assess adherence to standards
+ Collaborate with sales & internal audit and risk teams to strengthen agent oversight
+ System Management
+ Oversees administration of the AMS system to ensure the accuracy and consistency of all policy information. Track policy details, including policy numbers, coverage, premiums, and expiration dates, to facilitate renewals and servicing. Provide Marketing with insights derived from policy and client data to automate timely renewal reminders.
+ Work with Marketing partners to automate reminder workflows to ensure timely policy renewals, reducing the risk of lapses in coverage
+ Vendor Management
+ Act as key point of contact and primary liaison between agency and carrier partners to facilitate agent onboarding, improve agency/carrier operations, and resolve issues
+ Conduct regular reviews of agency carrier portfolio to ensure carrier standards are being met and implement remediation steps where necessary
+ Manage relationships with carrier partners to optimize agency portfolio, facilitate gaps in agency operations, and address emerging risks
+ Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of insurance operations, risk management, and compliance professionals. Collaborate with front-end and back-end IT, Sales, legal, operational, and Agency Management Systems teams to integrate risk management into all organizational practices
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
+ Extensive experience managing operations of an insurance agency with a focus more on back-office functions and carrier management rather than on production management
+ Expert knowledge of insurance operations, Agency Management Systems (AMS-Applied and Vertafore), and risk management
+ Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on building effective teams and driving results
+ Leadership presence, analytical acumen, and excellent communication skills
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
+ Ability to interpret and stay current with P&C regulations and insurance strategies
+ Attention to detail for the purpose of production reporting and compliance
EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
+ Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance Management, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field required plus 10 years of experience in insurance and/or risk management, preferably in the P&C sector, with a proven track record in strategic leadership and management of a large captive insurance portfolio.
+ 5+ years in a senior leadership role

We target between $186,096.00 - $232,620.00, and all offers are subject to a fair pay analysis.
