Senior Director, HR Business Partner - ITS

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:  

The Senior Director, HR Business Partner (HRBP) for the Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Department serves as a strategic advisor and consultant to IT leadership, aligning human capital strategies with business objectives. This role is responsible for driving on a global scale organizational effectiveness, talent management, workforce planning, and culture initiatives that support the evolving needs of a dynamic, innovation-driven IT function. 

 

The Senior Director, HRBP manages change, proactively assesses business needs and collaboratively develops solutions. Provides expertise, coaching, consultation and problem solving on organizational design and development, change management, performance management, talent development, succession planning, employee relations, learning and development, and policy/procedure interpretations.   

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Collaborate with IT executives and senior leaders to understand business goals and develop HR strategies that support organizational performance, transformation, and growth. 

Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives to ensure the IT organization has the right skills and capabilities for the future. 

Support organizational design efforts, including team structures, role clarity, and change management strategies to enable agility and scalability. 

Champion a high-performance, inclusive culture by leveraging engagement data, facilitating action planning within the IT function. 

Provide coaching and guidance to IT leaders on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and employee relations matters. 

Partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs) and Shared Services to implement enterprise-wide HR programs (e.g., performance management, compensation, learning) in a way that meets the unique needs of the IT organization. 

Use HR analytics and metrics to inform decisions, identify trends, and recommend solutions that drive business outcomes. 

Provide strategic leadership of short- and long-term goals through the use of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company’s mission and core values as a means to implement positive change and/or create organizational structure within the assigned business unit(s). 

Collaborate with employees in the establishment of clear and concise development plans to ensure succession planning and the advancement of future leaders within the IT organization. 

Strategic leader with broad-based knowledge in individual departments, and strong knowledge of industry practice and business principles.  Works on complex issues and abstract issues/situations where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. 

Leads other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.  Develops and coordinates simultaneous strategies/initiatives for direct departments, and contributes to the development of divisional/business unit strategies. 

Makes final decision on administrative or operational matters, and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives. 

Interprets and provides recommendations for change of company-wide policies and practices.  Establishes policies appropriate for the function. 

Regularly interacts with executives, senior management, and/or major customers.  Interactions frequently require special skills such as negotiating or influencing customers and/or senior level leaders in matters of significance to the organization. 

Provide technical guidance. 

Assist with various projects as assigned.  

Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:  Responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Human Resources staff.

 

EDUCATION:  

Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred 

 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:  

12+ years’ related experience. 

5+ years’ experience as a Director; or 5+ years’ experience in a senior level role. 

SHRM Certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP) is desirable. 

Experience supporting digital transformation or large-scale technology initiatives is desirable. 

Experience working in a matrixed, fast-paced, and global environment. 

Experience in organizational development, talent management, and change leadership. 

Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams. 

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact. 

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must stay current with the general trends in employment and agency law, the labor market and HR “best practices”.  

Experience with HR role in acquiring/divesting businesses. 

Demonstrated ability to utilize KPIs, metrics, reports and analysis to create solutions.  

Ability to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation. 

Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
