Senior Director, Head of North America Retirement Actuarial Leadership
**Description** **Summary** Our Retirement team combines expertise in retirement consulting to support global organizations worldwide in designing, managing, administering and communicating all types of retirement plans. Whether a client has a defined benefit pension or a defined contribution plan, we work with them to determine the right approach to plan design, funding, governing and employee engagement that fits their specific goals. Through the use of leading-edge tools and research as well as sophisticated thinking and technical resources, our teams build customized solutions for clients that balance retirement program costs and risks with plan objectives and participant opportunities. As a Senior Director and Head of North America Retirement’s Actuarial Leadership group, you will be primarily responsible for leading the team who provides guidance to our clients and Retirement colleagues on actuarial matters, including assumption selection, retirement program design, financial and operational management of defined benefit plans, retirement plan administration, and the application of actuarial standards and professional excellence. In addition, you would also serve as a Retirement Consultant on direct client engagements, leading and delivering retirement services and serving as a strategic advisor to clients. **The Role:** + Lead North America Retirement's Actuarial Leadership group (partnering with U.S. Resource Actuary and North America Policy and Procedures Leader) to address all actuarial needs for North America Retirement, including assumption setting, implementation of regulatory changes/guidance, addressing technical actuarial questions, and application of Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOPs). Coordination as appropriate with the Research and Innovation Center’s technical services team. + Partner with Client Solutions leaders to address actuarial issues for new solutions, including plan design, defined benefit de-risking, specialty administration, and retiree medical and severance programs. + Coordination with North America Retirement’s Policies and Procedures Leader and Client Experience Leader on actuarial matters, professional excellence, and revenue generation opportunities + Serve as a key contributor to colleague development opportunities for Lead Actuaries. Lead internal and client webcasts, ensuring appropriate topics, speakers, and continuing education opportunities. + Lead the Senior Actuary network, including talent development, involvement in the development of Intellectual Capital, and support of revenue generation activities related to actuarial matters. Partner with Office Business Leaders to identify and develop local Senior Actuaries. + Lead Retirement relationship with the American Benefits Council; provide relevant input on legislative and regulatory activities, as necessary. Provide relevant input on US / Canadian comment letters. + Maintain North America Retirement’s relationships with actuarial organizations (Society of Actuaries, Conference of Consulting Actuaries, American Academy of Actuaries). Coordinate implementation of Actuarial Standards of Practice, changes to actuarial policies, and regulatory comment letters. + Serve as a lead Retirement Consultant on select large client accounts, provide relationship management, serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on Retirement issues, and have accountability for growing Retirement revenue and maintaining account profitability. **Qualifications** **The Requirements** + 15+ years’ experience and success in the design and management of large group Retirement benefits gained in a consulting environment + Strong technical expertise in key retirement and actuarial issues, including Retirement plan design, assumption selection, defined benefit funding and accounting requirements, plan compliance, administration, and actuarial professionalism standards + Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders + Track record of success in managing large client relationships and leading global teams + Experience in managing multiple people and projects, and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget + Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams, and leverage the resources of other related practices to address client challenges + An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills + BA / BS plus FSA and EA required **Compensation and Benefits** Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only). **Compensation** The base salary compensation range] being offered for this role is $175,000-$300,000 USD per year.
