Senior Director, Government Security for UK, NATO & Commonwealth

Overview

The Government Security Manager for UK, NATO and Commonwealth is responsible for the personnel and physical security compliance requirements of Oracle’s classified engagements with the Government of the United Kingdom, NATO HQ, NATO member states, and Commonwealth countries. This new role will manage an international team of up to 7, ensuring compliance with Sovereign Security Policies, establishing appropriate and compliant Oracle Security Policies and, where appropriate, liaising with Global Physical Security.  The ideal candidate is highly capable of operating in a fast-paced, international technology environment with high security requirements.  This includes working collaboratively across departments, navigating global compliance standards, and supporting sensitive operations involving both local and international stakeholders.  Prior experience of working in a Defence Prime is essential.  Additional experience of NATO HQ, alongside US DOD, and a working level of French is a desirable.

 

Job Description

The Government Security Manager will be responsible for the security of Oracle’s information systems, personnel, and facilities for all NATO government customers including NATO HQ and NATO member states, and Commonwealth countries.  This position ensures management and oversight of compliance with classified Government program security requirements. Prior experience as an Information System Security Officer, or equivalent, in a Defence Prime is essential.  This is an executive position, capable of working closely with government(s) and industry security counterparts, overseeing program management teams, and executives to ensure successful execution of Oracle program security activities. This is an in-person work position.

 

Responsibilities

Develop, enforce, and maintain security policies and procedures for information systems in accordance with customer and corporate standards Manage the security authorisation process to include supporting systems owners with accreditation and compliance reviews Monitor and manage security controls such as firewalls, access controls, data encryption, and system hardening Risk assessment and management to include conducting vulnerability assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies Incident response to include investigations, stakeholder communication, and reporting Manage and maintain government sponsored personnel security clearances, to include: Initial processing Briefings Annual Trainings Management of reinvestigations and continuous vetting requirements Debriefings Monitor secure facility compliance with government facility accreditation standards Conduct inspections; manage preparations for and representation at security inspections and audits by government security personnel Establish security trainings and briefings specifically tailored to the unique requirements of the program Oversee the Insider Threat Awareness Program Provide classification management support to programs to include preparation and coordination of Program Classification Guides. Assist in the review of media and documents for classified information Oversee visitor and access control program Manage classified items lifecycle, to include creation, documentation, storage, transfer and destruction in accordance with Government procedure Support cross border collaboration and contribute to corporate best practices Maintain and administer information management plan for classified infrastructure

 

Position Requirements

Prior experience, within a Defence Prime, as an Information System Security Officer or equivalent and at least ten years’ experience in the following areas:

Information Systems Security  Implementation and administration of security processes and procedures Establishing and administering classified material control programs, including transfer, transmission, reproduction, destruction, and accountability Administering government sponsored personnel security clearances  Management of a government accredited secure facility Delivering security awareness trainings and compliance programs Must hold UK Developed Vetting and NATO Security Clearance

 

Required Education/Skills:

Bachelor’s (or equivalent) with 10+ years of security experience in support of sensitive host-nation government programs Must possess a high level of understanding of government security related policies, procedures, and initiatives Ability to apply the foregoing knowledge of government security requirements in a complex multi-level secure environment to ensure program compliance Ability to work independently to identify, assess & resolve unique security situations to facilitate contract performance within the bounds of security Highly proficient written and verbal communications skills with emphasis on clear and concise presentation of complex information Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, ability to communicate effectively, and be able to perform in a dynamic environment.
