Senior Director, Ambulatory Care Services - Ambulatory Services
* KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * ForNew London Hospital and Newport Health Center primary care, express care and specialty practices: * Responsible for hiring, supporting, and mentoring practice leaders to ensure that high-quality and effective care is provided in a collaborative and professional manner. Provides input to CMO when hiring or assessing the performance of medical directors. * Champions employee engagement efforts and encourages open communication and team work in the operations of the practices. * Works with Human Resources, CMO, COO, Medical Directors, and Administrative Leadership Team in developing provider recruitment and retention plans to meet community and strategic health system needs. Works closely with Human Resources, COO and CMO on the recruitment of the new providers. * Oversees the development of the annual operating and capital budgets in partnership with administrative and clinical practice leaders. * Ensures practice leaders are accountable for the financial performance of all practices and provides education where necessary. * With practice leaders, monitors key performance indicators, such as visit volumes, panel size, work relative value units (wRVUs) and all other productivity metrics to ensure clinical areas are meeting or exceeding benchmarks and goals. * Ensures that core clinic processes are standardized across clinic locations and disciplines, except where department level variation provides value to the patient and/or provider or is required by regulation. * Actively solicits feedback from providers, leaders, and clinical support staff to effectively manage operational performance. Takes appropriate action to address systematic issues through PDSA or other improvement methodologies. * Develops annual (operational) and long-term (strategic) goals per practice in partnership with the CMO, medical directors and practice leadership. Regularly assesses market trends, analyzes internal data and evaluates operations. Uses that data to establish goals and objectives for the ambulatory practices. * Provides executive leadership, in collaboration with Medical Directors, in the development and ongoing operations of population health based medical management and quality improvement programs to ensure cost effective and high quality delivery of medical services to the organization’s patients. * Oversees applicable quality metrics performance analysis and improvement efforts for NLH and the DH System. * Ensures high-functioning dyad and triad structures are implemented where appropriate and uses RACI and other decision-making tools to provide role clarity. * Communicates and collaborates with other hospital departments on inter-disciplinary projects and initiatives. * Serves as a member of the NLH senior leadership team and participates in the administrator on call (AOC) rotation. * Promotes effective, constructive communication among the medical staff, allied health providers, clinical support staff, administrative support staff and the Dartmouth Health system. * In partnership with the CMO, empowers practice, department, and medical directors to address all providers and staff who are non-compliant with local, state, and federal policies/laws. If needed, implements corrective action plans for issues that cannot be addressed at the director level. * Partners and collaborates with organization leaders to assure that operations are in compliance with all applicable CMS Conditions of Participation as well as Federal, State and Local regulations. * Maintains industry knowledge by belonging to or engaging with associations such as the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the New Hampshire Hospital Association (NHHA), the National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC), the American Medical Group Association (AMGA), and/or the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). * Collaborates with colleagues from other area facilities, within Dartmouth Health system, and within New England Alliance for Health (NEAH). * Performs other management or operation duties as assigned by the COO (e.g., serves as staff resource for committee chairs, represents NLH at DH system-level initiatives, etc.). * COMPENSATION: * Minimum pay: $55.58 * Maximum pay: $83.37 * Area of Interest:Management/Administration; * Work Status:weekdays, some evenings; * Employment Type:full-time; * Job ID:5699 Dartmouth Health is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
