**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Engineer for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) to serve as a subject matter expert for regional hotlines, providing critical technical guidance and support for complex vehicle diagnostics and repairs, particularly for Vehicles Off Road (VORs) requiring backend data changes.
This role involves identifying and resolving field issues through data analysis and collaboration with dealerships, leading information-sharing meetings, validating Field Service Actions, training Field Service Engineers on advanced diagnostic techniques to prevent unnecessary part replacements, contributing to training material development, communicating known errors to dealer technicians, and escalating diagnostic tool concerns, all to enhance repair efficiency, vehicle reliability, and technical knowledge across our service network.
+ **Provide Expert Technical Guidance** : Serve as a subject matter expert, offering advanced diagnostic and repair guidance to hotlines and field personnel, particularly for complex vehicle issues and Vehicles Off Road (VORs) requiring backend data changes.
+ **Lead Field Issue Resolution** : Proactively identify, track, and direct the resolution of complex field concerns by collecting and analysing field reports, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
+ **Collaborate with Dealerships and Stakeholders:** Work closely with various dealerships to provide support and gather feedback, and lead information-sharing meetings with market representatives and the Technical Assistance Centre (TAC).
+ **Validate Field Service Actions (FSAs):** Critically assess and validate Field Service Actions that necessitate the use of IDS/FDRS on vehicles prior to their official launch.
+ **Develop and Deliver Technical Training** : Train Field Service Engineers (FSEs) on advanced diagnostic techniques, emphasizing the identification of data changes to prevent unnecessary part replacements, and contribute to training material development.
+ **Cascade Critical Technical Information** : Communicate known errors and best practices to dealer technicians via platforms like CIDR and Tech Talk, ensuring adherence to correct diagnostic and repair processes.
+ **Manage Diagnostic Tool Escalations** : Systematically escalate unresolved diagnostic tool concerns through established processes to the Diagnostic Software Provider (DSP).
+ **Apply Advanced Diagnostic Methodologies** : Utilize in-depth working knowledge of IDS/FDRS, vehicle inter-module communication, and bus communication monitoring software for complex product concern diagnosis.
+ Diploma of Engineering (Mechanical or Electronics) or Trade Certificate (Motor Mechanic) is preferred. Alternate qualifications or education relevant to the vehicle industry will be considered.
+ Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey highly technical content clearly and concisely .
+ Strong working knowledge of IDS/FDRS and its application within the vehicle repair process.
+ Broad understanding of overall dealership repair processes.
+ Critical knowledge of vehicle inter-module communication.
+ Familiarity with vehicle bus communication monitoring software and analysis is highly regarded.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), IDS/FDRS, and Microsoft Teams.
