**Please review the following job description:**
Senior Data Platform Engineer is accountable for maintaining data platform, ensuring capabilities are stable, scalable, align to business requirements, and are controlled per Truist technology standards. This role is responsible for driving the architecture, implementation, and governance of data governance platforms and tools (such as Alation, Manta) ensuring safe and efficient consumption across the organization. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in DevOps practices, Platform Operations, Cloud infrastructure with experience to guide cross-functional teams in fast paced, agile environment. This position requires collaboration with senior leaders, platform engineers, and support teams to deliver innovative solutions, improve resiliency, and enhance automation.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Design, build and execute the Data and Analytics platform strategy.
2. Responsible for development and maintenance of one or more data platforms and tools, for safe and deliberate consumption throughout the organization.
3. Apply an in-depth understanding of platform engineering and administration and a basic understanding of other IT disciplines in guiding and coaching team members.
4. Adapt plans to meet service and/or operational challenges. Identifies and resolves technical, operational, risk management, and organizational challenges.
5. Responsible for providing subject matter expertise, consultation, coaching platform engineers and managing multiple platforms.
6. Partners with Data Platform Managers, Senior Managers to ensure that projects are delivered according to Enterprise Technology policies and procedures.
7. Works closely with senior leaders within Enterprise Technology.
8. Partner with production support teams to increase automation and monitoring, simplify data operations, increase resiliency.
9. In an Agile environment, may serve as the "Agile Champion."
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Required Qualifications:**

1. Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, Information Systems or equivalent degree
2. At least 6 years of experience in a combination of technology engineering with demonstrated experience with the relevant platforms such as business intelligence and reporting tools, data management and storage, document and content management, AI and model management, etc.
3. Deep experience in driving enterprise data execution, data operations, data engineering or software delivery
4. Expert problem-solving skills and being able to define detailed strategies as required
5. Experience in financial services industry
6. Experience in meeting regulatory obligations and operating in a highly regulatory environment
7. Ability to lead platform(s) of significant complexity and risk exposure
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, Master's degree or MBA, and eight years of progressive experience managing complex IT projects
2. Experience within Enterprise Data organizations preferably within a financial institution
3. Skills demonstrated in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), Platform administration and containerization.
4. Hands on experience with tools such as Terraform, GitLab pipelines, Docker, K8s, Ansible and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
5. Deep understanding of data operations, platform resiliency, monitoring, and observability using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch.
6. Strong understanding of Data engineering pipelines, ETL frameworks, and data governance principles.
7. Well-versed in providing guidance and training to platform engineers distributed across onshore and offshore
8. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and risk management in data environments.
9. Well-versed in coaching, mentoring and training platform engineers distributed across onshore and offshore
