Senior DevOps Engineer
Serato is one of the world leaders in audio software for professional DJs and musicians. We are based in central Auckland and we're on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in building, scaling, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You'll leverage your deep expertise in containerisation, automation, and security to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our applications and platforms. What You'll Do: + Design, implement, and manage scalable and highly available infrastructure on AWS, with a strong emphasis on Amazon ECS. + Develop and maintain our CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools to automate software delivery. + Implement and manage robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues. + Ensure the security and compliance of our cloud environment, with specific experience in configuring and managing AWS WAF and CloudFront security policies. + Manage and optimize our containerisation strategy using Docker and orchestrating with ECS. + Collaborate closely with development, QA, and security teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployments. + Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues in a timely manner. + Contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like AWS CDK or CloudFormation. + Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and DevOps trends, and recommend innovative solutions. What You'll Bring: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). + 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role. + Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a deep understanding of core services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, etc. + Proven expertise in deploying and managing applications using Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), including Fargate. + Strong understanding and practical experience with containerisation technologies (Docker) and orchestration. + Solid experience in configuring and managing AWS CloudFront for content delivery and caching. + In-depth knowledge of web application security and hands-on experience implementing and managing AWS WAF rules and policies. + Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g. Typescript). + Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. + Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI ). + Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Datadog, CloudWatch). + Strong understanding of networking principles and security best practices. + Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. + Strong communication and collaboration skills. + A proactive and automation-first mindset. Bonus Points For: + AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty). + Experience with managing micro services architecture. + Experience with serverless technologies (e.g. AWS Lambda, API Gateway). + Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet). + Experience with database administration and management on AWS (e.g. RDS, Aurora).
