Client Background & Position Overview
Our client is a globally recognized leader in ICT technologies with a strong commitment to innovation and scientific excellence. Located in Leuven, Belgium, their European Research Institute (ERI) serves as a strategic R&D center focused on enabling disruptive technologies through collaboration across international teams.
To support their mission in device scaling and next-generation technology development, they are seeking a highly skilled Senior Device TCAD Engineer. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in TCAD-based simulation and design-technology co-optimization (DTCO) flows for novel semiconductor devices.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain TCAD simulation decks and workflows to explore and optimize nanoscale transistor architectures, such as GAA-NS, CFET, and 2D material-based FETs.
Conduct virtual process integration studies and parametric analyses to improve power, performance, and area (PPA) metrics.
Benchmark internal device architectures with state-of-the-art solutions through literature review and simulation-based evaluations.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including participation in international technical conferences to share findings and keep abreast of emerging trends.
Collaborate closely with process integration, design, and modeling teams to ensure alignment between simulation results and fabrication feasibility.
Requirements
PhD or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience with TCAD simulation tools (e.g., Synopsys Sentaurus, Silvaco Atlas, Global TCAD Solutions).
Strong theoretical understanding of advanced semiconductor device physics and scaling challenges.
Proficiency in CMOS process technology and integration flows.
Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
Strong analytical mindset with a passion for research and innovation.
If you are passionate about semiconductor technology and eager to be part of a forward-looking research team, we welcome your application. Our client offers a stimulating work environment with opportunities for international collaboration and technical growth in a culturally rich setting.
