Position Definition (Key Purpose of the Position) :
The Product Developer position is an individual contributor role that works as part of a team, individually manage components of their responsible category and has experience developing lifestyle and outdoor garment ranges as a product specialist in at least one product category. As a member of the PD team, the Product Developer is responsible for taking product from design concept to salesman samples and into bulk production for assigned styles. This position works closely with global and regional merchandising, design and sourcing teams ensuring all seasonal objectives are successfully met. Requires related sourcing experience, fabric and trims, garment technical knowledge, as well as to be accountable to meet style FOB targets, control development budget. The ability of negotiation and supplier control, good sense of highlevel quality requirement.
Key Result Areas:
Manages/executes the development process of brand/company product lines as assigned. Creates tech packs and specifications for the products, publishes, and maintains all records, style files, and samples associated with the product and related programs and sales channels.Assist in the review of new styles with designers and product managers, analyzing information to help align cost targets to style details and related construction to meet or exceed pre-determined gross margin/IMU targets.Conscious on up-to-date fashion trend, functional benefit technology, Fit and material. And make the best effort to inject, integrate, incorporate those learning into commercialization processPlans and tracks the development schedule of all products to ensure a timely completion following the pre-determined product development calendar.Ensures both the technical superiority and the product quality/integrity of all products falling under responsibilities. Translating designs into full specification packages with accurate technical details, bill of materials.Work with vendors and regional sourcing colleagues (Product Supply) to ensure the superior quality and timely delivery, select new fabrications and production processes that go hand in hand with developing innovative and technically superior products each season.Interacts with Product Manager, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Quality Assurance to distribute product technical details and assure the accuracy, legality and integrity of all product performance claimsEnsure all key deadlines are upheld. Assist and work with HQ PD colleagues to ensure all products meet required standards in all areas.Competency Requirements :

Minimum Degree Held: Bachelor's degree in design (Apparel), Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience
