About the RoleWe’re looking for a systems-minded, product-focused designer to work on our Design System with expertise in accessibility (a11y) and internationalization (i18n) to help build and scale inclusive, globally usable design elements, components, patterns, and guidelines. This role blends technical design acumen with a human-centered approach, ensuring that our designed experiences serve all HubSpot customers—regardless of ability, culture, or geography.
In this role, you will: Ensure any new components and design layouts are WCAG 2.1/2.2+ compliant and localization-ready by default (RTL, date/time formats, pluralization, etc.).Create a roadmap that will optimize our product experiences for accessible behaviors (keyboard navigation, ARIA roles, focus states)
Help define component behaviors, guidelines, and usage best practices that accommodate assistive tech and cultural variance.
Partner closely with our engineers, localization team, content designers, and UX design leads to align on an inclusive design strategy and vision.
Embed a11y and i18n into Figma libraries, tokens, and documentation; collaborate on tooling to streamline implementation with our design technologists and engineers.
Define contribution and governance models that include accessibility and internationalization review.
Drive education, audits, and workshops to embed inclusive design across the org.
Contribute to the exploration of design language elements that are being updated, including typography, color, iconography, data visualization, elevation, grids, sound—with a focus on a11y and i18n
Prototype and explore solutions using emerging tools like AI-powered design platforms.
What You’ll Tackle Designing flexible but opinionated components that scale across varied use cases.
Maintaining high accessibility standards, especially during a design language transformation.
Establishing a governance model for adoption and contribution to the system.
Balancing complexity with usability and clear documentation.
What We’re Looking For A portfolio demonstrating impactful design at scale, with a focus on accessibility and systems thinking.
Deep knowledge of a11y (WCAG, ARIA) and i18n (Unicode, RTL, localization workflows) and stays on top of the latest updates in those standards.
Experience in building and documenting component libraries and token strategies.
Ability to prioritize, drive projects, and make data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to influence cross-functional teams and leadership.
A curious mindset with a passion for emerging tools like Replit and Lovable to accelerate the conceptualization of ideas. About UX at HubSpot
