Job Title: Senior Design Manager
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Type: Contract
Compensation: $70 - $90 hourly

System One is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Design Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic.  The position is based in Toronto, ON Canada.
Accountabilities: Responsible for conducting comprehensive conformance reviews of the station and guideway design packages, incl. engineering reports, drawings and models, against Project Agreement requirements and interface documents Distribute review responsibilities among project team members as required Coordinate with Contracting Authoring to develop and maintain review schedule Prioritize and monitor progress of the reviews Manage review distribution lists and review sessions in Bluebeam Brief Project Engineering and Interface Management on the findings Prepare and submit Review Comments Sheets Maintain review progress report Required Skills/ Knowledge: Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial engineering, mass transit engineering, subway station design, MEP engineering Prior experience with basic Project Management: Solid understanding of clash detection principles Strong prior experience with Microsoft Office suite, scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera), requirements management systems, and software configuration tools Prior experience managing small-medium sized projects and project teams Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience Success with multi-tasking across multiple projects at given time Builds effective relationships and has exceptional communication and leadership skills Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills Undergraduate Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Design) from an accredited University or Equivalent Technical Experience Desired Skills/ Knowledge: Mass transit domain construction or design experience is strongly preferred Experience in overall systems design methods and principles Experience in multi-disciplinary design reviews Experience in leading cross-functional teams Clear Criminal Background Check. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Ontario P.Eng (must) Languages: English- Proficient
