Senior Design Engineer
Job Description

Would you like to be part of a global leader developing and producing energy-efficient products and solutions? Danfoss is looking for a forward-thinking Senior Design Engineer to join our Controls and Thermal Management business unit.

You will be based in Nordborg, Denmark, working closely with local teams and collaborating globally with colleagues in Poland, China, India, and Mexico.

In this cross-functional environment, you will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including engineering peers and partners from product development, quality, procurement, product management, sales, and manufacturing. 

Your work will directly contribute to innovative, energy-efficient solutions with real impact.

Job Responsibilities

In this senior role, you will have greater responsibility in developing new mechanical solutions and improving existing designs to meet high performance and quality standards. You will lead projects from concept through implementation, applying your extensive technical expertise to solve complex engineering challenges.

Your responsibilities include:

Leading the design and evaluation of mechanical products, systems, and processes Preparing technical documentation, specifications, and analyses Collaborating across disciplines to resolve design or operational issues Staying up to date with new technologies and trends, particularly in thermodynamics and electronics Collaborating with and supporting colleagues in the team, sharing knowledge and expertise to drive collective success Background & Skills

We are looking for a highly experienced candidate with a solid technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. You thrive in a structured and fast-paced environment, where you can drive solutions forward in close cooperation with others.

To succeed in this role, you ideally have:

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Extensive experience in mechanical product development, ideally with valves or similar products  Expertise in thermodynamics and knowledge of electronics, motor systems, and stepper motors  Proficiency in Inventor or another 3D CAD tool  Familiarity with SAP and/or PLM is considered a plus A global mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills
