**Senior Design Engineer – Advanced Technology Development (Lighting)**
The **Senior Design Engineer** plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of lighting. Leveraging deep engineering expertise and sharp project leadership, this individual explores, validates, and implements next-generation technologies that will power tomorrow’s lighting solutions.
**What You'll Do**
+ Serve as the **technical lead and mechanical engineering authority** on mid-to-high complexity advanced technology development initiatives.
+ Identify, break down, and champion organizational capability building around **emerging lighting technologies** .
+ Apply expert knowledge of **manufacturing and tooling processes** to ensure part designs are production-ready and cost-effective.
+ Collaborate in the **supplier selection process** , providing critical input on qualification and risk.
+ Own and execute **validation plans** to assess feasibility and manufacturability of novel designs.
+ Review and refine part designs to ensure alignment with process capabilities and quality targets.
+ Define **test strategies** with minimal oversight, delivering insightful analysis that informs product direction.
+ Author **detailed testing reports** and lead internal lab evaluations independently.
+ Conduct and interpret **engineering analyses** using tools such as:
+ Design of Experiments (DOE)
+ Statistical Data Analysis
+ Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
+ Lead and manage the **Advanced Engineering mechanical team** , balancing deliverables, priorities, and resource planning.
**What You Bring**
+ A **curious, innovation-first mindset** with a passion for problem-solving.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics (Master’s preferred).
+ 5+ years of **product design experience** in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment.
+ Strong proficiency in **3D CAD tools** (SolidWorks, NX, or similar) and FEA software.
+ Proven ability to develop processes and evaluate design concepts analytically and statistically.
+ Robust mechanical intuition with a deep understanding of **materials, properties, and manufacturing processes** .
+ Experience with **electromechanical systems** and **LED lighting** technologies is a strong plus.
+ Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
+ A hands-on appreciation for **tools of the construction trades** is highly valued.
