Senior Database Administrator (Oracle) - Remote

It takes the right team of people, working together on the right solutions for the customer. We are looking for a seasoned Database Administrator who will be a key driver to make this happen. 

In this position, you will be part of the team building best in class health care reporting service. Learn and grow using Azure Infrastructure, DevSecOps, Agile Scrum, incremental delivery philosophy with highly supportive peers constantly sharing subject matter expertise. 

Our core work hours are 10am - 4pm Eastern Time with the option to start earlier or work later depending on your time zone. 

Responsibilities: 

Automate database management tasks using shell scripts, Github Actions 

Use Infrastructure as Code to build and manage Azure resources 

Facilitate brainstorming meetings with development team to review, analyze, and assess business systems and needs 

In charge of database backup and recovery methods, database access security and integrity, logical data storage design, and data storage administration 

Assists in the selection of a database management system and the maintenance of database performance 

Participate in continuous process improvement 

Coordinate configure and maintain security controls with the security engineer 

Make recommendations for system architecture per Oracle best practices 

Proactively monitor maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes, and address issues as soon as possible 

Troubleshoot application connectivity and poor performance 

In charge of query tuning 

In charge of database migrations and server updates 

Work on DevOps team tickets when there is no SQL specific work to do. This includes writing and maintaining Github Actions, Terraform IaC and other technologies based on business needs. 

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree

7+ years of experience with Oracle SQL queries and SQL tools 

5+ years of experience in Oracle database design, implementation, and conversion 

3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform preferred) 

MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.) 

U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required due to federal clearance requirement 

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance 

Candidate must have resided in the United States (U.S.) for at least 3 of the last 5 years 

Professional Skills: 

Familiarity with relational and dimensional data modelling 

Knowledge of PowerShell and Unix shell scripting 

Solid mathematics and statistical skills 

In-depth understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring requirements 

Federal Government contracting work experience

Expertise working as part of a dynamic, interactive Agile team

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Strong writing and verbal communication skills

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$98,124.00 - $166,810.00
