1. Planning
1.1 Programs the sequence and priority of action steps to be followed by his/her team;
1.2 Formulates Database Administration’s policies, guidelines and procedures as well as Database Administration Projects;
1.3 Reviews the report on system performance and capacity and recommends solutions;
1.4 Provides advice/consultation on database administration-related matters to all units/departments/divisions as needed;
1.5 Provides input in the annual Database Administration budget planning; and,
1.6 Anticipates needs and concerns that may arise, and comes up with remedial plans of action to address it.
2. Leading
2.1 Participates and make recommendations to Database Administration Manager/Assistant Vice President for System Operations following the recruitment, selection and placement policies of the Company;
2.2 Develops and motivates staff to help them improve their competencies;
2.3 Initiates and/or attends to various coordination meetings for consultations which require immediate actions, clarifications and resolutions of issues; and,
2.4 Presides over department meetings, in the absence of the Database Administration Manager.
3. Organizing
3.1 Conducts coordination and/or planning meetings, in the absence of the Database Administration Manager;
3.2 Establishes work relationships and delegates authority to ensure cooperative efforts of staff.
4. Controlling
4.1 Oversees team progress in accomplishing set goals/objectives and implements necessary action plans to address any discrepancy from the agreed deliverables and timelines;
4.2 Assesses the work progress and actual performance of staff based on established performance standards and indicators;
4.3 Manages risks related to database information. (e.g. database corruption, data inconsistencies and server);
4.4 Provides reports and submits the team’s accomplishments and performance on set deadlines; and,
4.5 Oversees compliance of staff to Company policies, guidelines and procedures.
