**Description** Tyto Athene is searching for a **Senior Data Steward** to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida. Positions are located both CONUS/OCONUS at the SOUTHCOM HQ in Doral, FL, and at the TSOC and other locations abroad (GTMO, Honduras, Colombia etc.). The Senior Data Steward is responsible for ensuring high standards of data governance, integrity, and quality across enterprise data assets. This role serves as a key liaison between business units, IT, and compliance teams to enforce data policies, manage metadata, and promote data stewardship practices. **Responsibilities:** + Oversees data governance processes, implements data quality standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and reliability + Collaborates with data owners, business units, and IT teams to define data quality requirements, establishes data cleansing protocols, and monitors data quality metrics + Maintains data classification, validation, and integrity throughout its lifecycle, following established guidelines and best practices + Supports the development and enforcement of data policies, facilitates data quality assessments, and provides guidance to teams on data quality improvement efforts + Defines data quality criteria, conducts regular data audits, identifies and resolves data quality issues, and promotes a culture of data quality across the organization. + Develop and enforce data quality rules, KPIs, and exception handling workflows. + Ensure compliance with regulations such as DoD 5015.2, and internal cybersecurity protocols + Monitor and report on the effectiveness of data stewardship programs + Mentor junior stewards and analysts, providing best practices and governance training **Qualifications** **Required:** + Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related field + 10+ years in data governance, data stewardship, or data quality management + Deep knowledge of data management frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53 + Strong understanding of structured and unstructured data, data lakes, and data cataloging + Experience with enterprise governance tools + Proficient in SQL and able to work with business intelligence and analytics teams **Desired:** + Master’s degree in related field + Experience working with federal data strategy frameworks, Zero Trust Architecture, or FedRAMP-compliant platforms + Familiarity with AI/ML data pipeline governance and metadata tagging for automated policy enforcement + Experience supporting Defense Department, Intelligence Community, or other federal enterprise data programs + Background in Agile or DevSecOps environments with a focus on data-driven decision making + Certified Data Management Professional – DAMA International + Collibra Ranger or Steward Certification + Informatica Axon, EDC, or IDQ Certification + Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate + ITIL v4 Foundation + Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Information Privacy Professional **Clearance:** + TS/SCI clearance required **Certification:** + DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role + CompTIA Security+ CE **Location:** + Doral, Florida **About Tyto Athene** **Compensation:** + Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
