The Role 

As a Senior Data Scientist in SAP Survey Operations (Corporate Strategy Group/CMI), you have a three-part job.    

System Administrator of a production instance of Qualtrics managing roles/access, onboarding/training, usage/reporting, governance/compliance, and troubleshooting of instance-specific issues. 

User Community lead for Qualtrics user groups @ SAP managing our community calls, MS Teams engagement, and Wiki documentation – using those channels to share product & process updates, best practices, and impactful programs being run across different parts of SAP.  

Analyst/Practitioner in research working side by side with Corporate Strategy to support and improve our global survey tracking programs by leveraging Qualtrics, Python, DataBricks and other tools collect, analyze and present research finding across the business to action.  

  

What Success Looks Like in the Role 

As an Admin, success is ensuring our users can self-onboard, adopt best practices, review existing research relevant to their role or group, and conduct research that is compliant, trusted and timely. 

As a User Community Lead, success is bringing collective learning together so we get better and faster as a community and further the impact of survey research at SAP.  

As an Analyst/Practitioner, success is working side by side with researchers across the company to develop and refine programs that deliver actionable insights.  By working in our real-world context on our larger programs you will become a better system administrator and community leader.  

 
A Day in the Life 

As an admin, you will manage user access requests, surveys inbox triage about process questions and product troubleshooting, conduct annual user and survey audits, support global survey registration reporting, liaison with Qualtrics for POC of new features (AI, Discover, etc) and sunsetting of legacy features. You will also run the SAP Surveys Overview dashboard including weekly data uploads, monthly and quarterly metrics reporting.   

As a community lead, you will schedule and post engaging Teams content and lead regular community calls, establish best practices by example, manage & disseminate internal compliance documentation, develop and host semi-annual enablement sessions on key features, and support process & product enablement resource management for satellite groups & elevated users. 

As a practitioner/analyst, you will serve as a mentor and guide for power users, sharing best practices for building, launching, and managing projects and programs on the Qualtrics platform. You will also use data engineering tools & Qualtrics API calls to clean, update, and analyze data for feedback programs. By identifying significant trends and insights from survey data across a variety of initiatives and brands, you’ll help elevate research impact company wide. 

 

Your Background 

You are a data nerd at heart and you love to work with people to learn and grow together.  You know how to extract and ingest data into Qualtrics for the business to use. You are able to simplify the complexity in working with data. You care about understanding the customer, partner and employee experiences and want SAP to deliver experiences that align strategically with business goals. You also like to work with people and you’re not afraid of presenting in front of large groups.  You have used JIRA for work management. You have done Python coding in the past and have experience with tools like DataBricks for data wrangling, API calls, and analysis.  

  

Minimum Qualifications 

Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in BA/BS in Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Marketing or Social Science, IT or Engineering. 

5+ years of work experience 

Strong quantitative analytical skills with competence in techniques such as descriptive statistics and KPI metric development. 

In-depth knowledge of the Qualtrics platform, understanding the end-to-end flow of building surveys, workflows, dashboards, and ticketing including API calls and Intergrations. 

Knowledge of brand administration tools in Qualtrics to support user management and implement policies and processes within the platform to ensure compliance.  

Strong verbal and written communication skills to present tools, processes and dashboards to stakeholders and the business.  

Believes in eating one's own dog food and using that experience to drive the creation of exceptional customer facing products 

High standard of detail, excellence, professionalism, and role model behavior 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Familiarity with working in SAP’s data space including BW, CRM and newer spaces like HANA Data Lake, Business Data Cloud and DataSphere.  

Qualtrics Brand Administration experience managing a live instance 

User Community management/engagement experience with moderate-sized user communities (250+) 

Working on a global team where peers are across time zones and have diverse cultures

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $133,100 - $276,800(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
