Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Modeling
Knowledge Graph & Semantic Layer Development
Design and implement knowledge graphs to enhance semantic understanding, relationship modeling, and AI explainability.Define ontologies and ensure schema alignment between enterprise data and graph structures.Integrate knowledge graph systems with both structured and unstructured data sources (XML, JSON, etc.).ETL/ELT and Data Integration
Perform data profiling and analysis for source systems, manually maintained data, machine-generated data, and target repositories.Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Informatica, Talend, or custom code in Python or Java.Design automated data loads and transformations aligned with data mapping and business logic.Maintain metadata structures to support reusable ETL components and monitor pipeline performance.Database & Interface Design
Architect and maintain enterprise databases for operational and analytical workloads.Reverse-engineer schemas from existing SQL databases and integrate legacy systems into modern architecture.Develop and recommend user interfaces, data services, and visual tools to enable data access, curation, and reporting.Perform root cause analysis of data issues and support Data Quality (DQ) rule creation and validation.Data Governance & Quality Assurance
Build technical data dictionaries and contribute to business glossaries.Define and enforce data integrity, validation rules, auditability standards, and governance practices.Support data lineage, data cataloging, and data discovery tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, TAMR).Assist with Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives and reference data standardization.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with AI/ML engineers, software developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to design and deliver scalable data solutions.Understand interdependencies between teams (e.g., UX, product, enterprise) and align data strategies accordingly.Identify opportunities for reusable services and shared architecture components.Project Execution
Execute deliverables using Agile methodologies, ensuring iterative progress, scalability, and business value.Provide post-deployment support to ensure adoption, performance, and issue resolution.Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and drive best practices across the data engineering community.Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a STEM-related field and 3+ years of experience in data processing, applications, or software development.OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of experience in data processing, applications, or software development.

The salary range for this position outside of Boston, MA is $93,000.00 - 124,000.00. For those residing in Boston, MA area, the salary range for this position is $111,600 - $148,800. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
