CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Data Engineer opening for our client in Rochester, MN. Location: Remote Duties: Develop and deploy data pipelines, integrations, and transformations to support analytics and machine learning solutions as part of an assigned product team Use open-source programming languages and vended software tools to meet design functionality for products and programs Partner with product owners and analytics/machine learning teams to identify and retrieve data, conduct exploratory analysis, pipeline and transform data, and generate actionable insights Implement data pipelines using ETL/ELT best practices and enforce strong data governance and quality principles Analyze and process complex data sources in a fast-paced environment, ensuring peak efficiency through effective data modeling Identify, design, and implement automation and process improvement solutions Collaborate across teams to support cross-platform operations and solutions Create and maintain technical documentation, including functional and technical specifications Drive innovation by exploring new features, tools, and technologies, and provide recommendations to enhance data engineering offerings Mentor junior data engineers and support team growth and development Skills: Required hands-on experience with the GCP tech stack, including: Terraform GCP Dataflow GCP BigQuery GCP Dataproc GCP Data Fusion GCP Change Data Stream Python/SQL Cloud Functions Cloud Events Cloud Composer Strong understanding of data quality principles, data management, and governance Ability to create scalable, efficient, and reusable data processing systems Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience programming in SQL 3+ years of experience building and maintaining automated data pipelines and data assets using batch and/or streaming processes Demonstrated experience designing, building, and implementing data systems aligned with enterprise data frameworks Prior experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical initiatives is a plus Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR equivalent experience (5+ years) Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
