Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Primary Location: Washington, DC Clearance: Top-Secret (TS) Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support the development and delivery of an advanced visual analytic application in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, data architecture, and software engineering, with a demonstrated ability to lead high-impact technology initiatives. Responsibilities: + Design and implement data analytics solutions for desktop and web-based visual analytic software. + Develop tools and frameworks to facilitate bulk analysis of relational and semi-structured data using advanced graphics, high-performance computing, and visualization technologies. + Leverage open-source, COTS, and GOTS tools to deliver actionable intelligence from large, complex data streams. + Design strategies and standards for enterprise database systems with a focus on operations, security, and programming best practices. + Construct and optimize large-scale relational databases and data pipelines. + Integrate new systems with existing data warehouses, continuously improving performance and system functionality. + Act as a technical expert on multiple project assignments and provide mentorship to junior engineers when applicable. + Evaluate project performance and recommend strategies to improve growth and success. Required Qualifications: + Active Top Secret clearance is required. + U.S. Citizenship is required. + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. + Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data engineering, data analytics, or database architecture. + (In lieu of years of experience, relevant certifications or prior work demonstrating the necessary expertise may be considered.) + Proven ability to lead major technology projects and apply comprehensive knowledge across high-impact assignments. + Strong experience in designing, building, and maintaining large relational databases and high-performance data systems. + Familiarity with data modeling, ETL pipelines, cloud platforms, and distributed computing technologies. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with visualization tools and frameworks. + Knowledge of GOTS, COTS, and open-source software ecosystems. + Proficiency in high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL). + Understanding of data security and compliance in high-clearance environments.
