Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. + 5 years of experience with data processing software (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive) and algorithms (e.g., MapReduce, Flume). + Experience writing software in Java, C++, Python, Go, or JavaScript. + Experience with client-facing projects, troubleshooting technical issues, and working with Engineering and Sales Services teams. Preferred qualifications: + Experience with data center technology or supply chain. + Experience working with data scientists. + Experience with a wide range of data engineering and data governance tools and technologies, including cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform), data warehousing solutions, data quality tools, and metadata management systems. + Experience with collaborative coding and version control. + Understanding of analytics and model development lifecycle. + Ability to develop and execute roadmaps for scaling data engineering capabilities. Implement data quality checks, monitoring systems, and data lineage tracking. Advocate best practices for data engineering. + Partner with stakeholders to translate data needs into actionable technical designs. Lead technical design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Implement internal Business Intelligence platform workflows. + Design, develop and implement insightful dashboards and reports. Communicate complex technical concepts. Monitor dashboards to drive data-driven recommendations to audiences. + Mentor and guide junior data engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and technical development support. + Contribute to future data engineering plans and scale the data engineering function within the organization as the first data engineer hire.
